Custody and Management Policy

This summary explains how BitcoinP2P safeguards and administers customer bitcoin balances. We maintain the custody function internally and apply security, accounting, and operational controls intended to align with modern regulatory expectations, including MiCA-style principles.

What this service covers

Under custody and management, BitcoinP2P stores and operates customers' bitcoin on their behalf within platform wallets. Core custody tasks are handled in-house.

Storage security and recordkeeping

Our main custody duty is to protect customer assets from unauthorized access and misuse while keeping accurate internal records for every account. Control procedures are documented and can be provided to supervisory authorities when required.

Fraud and access prevention

  • Customer wallets are segregated from company-owned holdings.
  • A limited, trained operations group has privileged wallet access.
  • A cold-storage-first model is used for the vast majority of funds, with only operational liquidity online.
  • Monitoring, approval controls, and internal access rules are applied continuously.

Insolvency and misuse safeguards

  • Customer bitcoin is treated separately from company assets in internal accounting.
  • Per-customer ledger entries track balances, fees, and withdrawals in detail.
  • Balance calculations are updated on an ongoing basis for visibility and reconciliation.
  • Controls are designed to detect unauthorized movements or abnormal access patterns.

Customer transparency

  • Terms and legal conditions are published for customer review.
  • Signed-in users can see their bitcoin balances in account views.
  • Customers are informed quickly if service interruptions may impact access or safekeeping.

Liability framework

Where a loss is caused by BitcoinP2P operations, liability applies in accordance with customer agreements and is generally capped at the market value of affected bitcoin at loss time. Events outside our control, including underlying blockchain-level failures, may be excluded. Contract terms define rights, limits, and claims process in detail.
